As Prohealth, we make it our mission to support organisations that put Malta’s Environment at the helm. We strongly believe that likeminded individuals and organisations can change the environmental landscape in Malta for the better. Wave of Change is one such organisation. What started out as a commitment amongst a group of friends to pick up 3 pieces of trash as an ongoing effort to rid our seas from plastic. They have now become advocates of plastic reduction and use of alternative materials with the aim of cleaning up our land and sea. Their motto is to “look after yourself, those around you and your environment”.
The concept behind Wave of Change is to empower people to be there own hero and take action in their everyday life and to reduce plastic waste that ends up in our seas. What better way to raise awareness to rid plastic from our seas than to respect the sea itself? That is how their yearly ‘Clean Seas Campaign’ started, every year they set a swimming challenge and this year they’ve definitely topped the last one. This year Neil Agius, the founder of Wave of Change has set an all-time new target to achieve. He will be tackling a 95km non-stop swimming marathon from Sicily to Malta for a total of 35 hours. Over the previous months Neil has undergone some intense 10-hour training sessions from 10pm to 10am and from 10am to 10pm to acclimatise his body for what is to come on Thursday the 25th of June.
This year Prohealth provided the entire Wave of Change Team with La Roche-Posay Anthelios Sunscreens and other products. We would like to wish the entire crew and Neil Agius the best of luck. We are rooting for you!
